I know Im late to post this but this is a MUST LISTEN record if you ever had a little love for hip hop. I wasnt a big Dilla fan before this. I liked Donuts but this is definitely better. I havent heard an album so many times in repeat for years. Seriously dope. I wont post a download link, you can find it easily googling anyway. If not go and buy it.I hope the money goes to the J Dilla Foundation and not some record label boss.
Today according to R.Brophy on TestIndustries is Be Nice to Richie Hawtin Day and we will agree with that too.We know he has hard times now, with his clothing collection and the cube might need some extra alien energy to work..We will be there for mr.Hawtin even if we dont like him that much. We will all be nice to Richie although this article here doesnt really help ;) We apologise to mr. Hawtin for all the posts we wrote here like: the pube or the AMAZING traktor vid!! or the really amazing Hitler vid.So everyone today show love to Richie. I suggest everyone feel free to send some courage and support emails to mr.Hawtin these hard times.
This is what courage wolf says to mr.Hawtin:
ps:I havent heard the mix at TestIndustries but I suppose its good so check it out.
This is something a friend did after I asked him.(check out his music) I thought it was really good to keep it just for myself. Those are the lyrics of Deetron - Life soundtrack. thnx man.

For those that haven't seen this or don't remember it, it's Hawtin's notorious cube. Somebody of Star Trek found it in a galaxy far far away and gave it to them to change techno for ever. He also advised them on hair styling and clothing, so that minus wouldn't end up looking like the Star Trek guys. Some even say it's the cube from the movie with the same name and that Hawtin and his friends are looking for unsuspecting club kids to put inside the cube for "the cube III".
but I'm not the only one making jokes of THE CUBE ...

THE PUBE
This is from an official Afuken event promotion. Intergalactic neon pube. haha really awesome. Image from here.
After checking out the latest Youngster's release Babylon superstars (which is cool but I'm still stuck with Phoenix ) I remembered Laurent Garnier's Fcom label which didnt seem so active lately. So I found this. It's a french online music magazine and it says that fcom is dead. Too bad. Check out the video where Laurent Garnier performs acid eiffel in a techno-unfriendly audience with a silver suit. Glorious times.. Anyway there is another great video with Acid eiffel. It's a miami vice night drive scene. Burial tests his tracks this way. To check if a tune he does is good he puts it on the car stereo and night-drives at london. There is definitely something about night drives and this is the perfect night drive video althought it's almost morning (btw this IS real) and is so great that snow patrol used it as their "open your eyes" music video. This should have Acid Eiffel playing in the back.
Tomorrow Sep 30 begins the voting phase for Audion's Billy says go remix contest. I really enjoy these competitions because you can download the samples of the track to be remixed and understand what the producer actually did. Also it's a nice way of hearing music from amateur (and sometimes upcoming) producers. The problem with that comp was that they didnt give all the samples for free. They were selling them. So if you wanted to have all the samples Matthew used you had to buy the premium pack. I mean they have hundreds maybe thousands of people remixing their track for free and still they want to make money out of it. If they got any pro producer they would have to pay him but with this contest they get so many remixes for free + they make money out of the remixing process. Isnt this kinda cheap on their side? They should thank everyone who spend time and effort on this remix and not trying to cash in. At the end they will choose two and go for a proper release on spectral sound or will it be digital only (with no cost at all) ?
Btw the prizes apart from the Traktor scratch arent something special.
I dont know where this is from. Just found it on the web. Such a nice and warm crowd.. If all parties were like this..

So while I was away of the internet news something really astonishing happened that I just found out yesterday. As you probably already know Burial revealed himself on his myspace page showing a pic of him and said his name is Will Bevan. This was written some months ago on guardian (I think) and when everybody searched about William Bevan they got this and thought it was a joke. Turned out to be his real name. Personally I dont like the fact that he revealed himself. I never thought it was somebody famous like Aphex or fatboy slim and I really loved the whole mystery thing which kinda helped burial to get more attention at mainstream press -even if he didnt want to. With this big secret that Burial kept all this time he showed that what he really cared about was the music. He didnt want the fame, the money, or the "producer" title which is exactly the opposite of what most of the people in dance music industry are about, hunting for a place in the DJ top100. Anyway this is a very interesting old Burial interview at Blackdown's blog. When will his dj kicks be ready?..
Watch this amazing vid where Hawtin kisses some traktor ass. So much creativity. He must be a genious or smthn. They sure paid him well.
Found this via the Ra feed and the sad part is it had the most comments from the other topics. Why anything that has to do with celebrity djs gets more attention that it deserves even if it is completely bullshit? This vid is an undercover Traktor ad that probably Hawtin got paid for, and then those kids say "Hawtin is a genious" cause he used a loop and pressed the send button to sychronize his laptop with marc's..
I received a Beatport spam email that said the latest dj hype is deep house, and after checking some new dj charts at beatport I can say deep house is the new hype, at least at Beatport. So far so good, I prefer deep house over minimal and electro house, although I dont like some really deep tracks that nothing is happening for 8 minutes or so except two heavily delayed chords. But how did this deep house love came? It's not a new genre nor new artists came to take it out of the underground. So.. is Beatport trying to create a hype for deep house?
DE is a way of *doing*.DE simply means doing whatever you do in the *easiest* most relaxed way you can manage which is also the quickest and most efficient way, as you will find as you advance in DE.You can start right now tidying up your flat, moving furniture or books, washing dishes, making tea, sorting papers.Don't fumble, jerk, grab an object. Drop cool possessive fingers onto it like a gentle old cop making a soft arrest. Guide the dustpan lightly to the floor as if you were landing a plane. Here is student at work. The student considers heavy objects. Tape recorder on the desk taking up too much space and he doesn't use it very often. So put it under the washstand. You will discover clumsy things you've been doing for years until you think that is just the way things are. Now try again lifting shifting pivoting dropping on the legs just so and right under the washstand. He is learning the simple miracles...(...)
I was listening to Laurent Garnier's RA podcast and those lyrics really got my attention.. Later I found that these lyrics were used by Minilogue in Doiicie release and I was thrilled. Originally this is a text from a short length movie called "The Discipline of DE" movie by Gus Van Sant and William S. Burroughs.
DE.Do Easy. Is really D.E. the way to learn the simple miracles?
Psychonauts - World Keeps Turning (highfish and zander remix -digital only)
I remember listening to their album on gigolo records while still in highschool. I thought it was too dark and too strange for djs. So now when I saw they released some remixes of this track I got really interested. There's an audiofly x remix but I dont feel it at all. Tiefschwarz include it in their june mixmag mix and say that it has something like Depeche mode vibe but to me it's like they had a track ready and added the vocals to make it a remix. Anyway.. how's the best mix digital only?
OK. Everyone should have heard this. It's charted everywhere. Great track. Guess that they will play it a lot at bestradio.gr It's totally their style.
Nikola Gala - blueberry
Another greek artist with a great release in Plastic City. Actually Nikola Gala has his own label Escada music and has been around for quite a while, so keep an eye on him.
Raudive - Tempo
Good. I would like it more without the tempo sample all the time. It's from Cocoon compilation H. Check it out.
Redshape - Robot
In review sites they would say something "real underground music for those who know". Deep and dark, will work perfectly in the hands of the right dj. (Is it just me or the snare hit is kinda dubstep-esque? -sry for my english-)
Trailer for BLIP FESTIVAL: REFORMAT THE PLANET, debuting at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March of 2008.
BLIP FESTIVAL: REFORMAT THE PLANET is a feature length documentary which delves into the movement known as chiptunes, a vibrant underground scene based around creating new, original music using old video game hardware. Familiar devices such as the Nintendo Game Boy and Nintendo Entertainment System are pushed in new directions with startling results. Using New York as a microcosm for a larger global movement, "...Reformat the Planet" maps out the genesis of the first annual Blip Festival, a four day celebration of over 30 international artists exploring the untapped potential of low-bit video game consoles. With floor-stomping rhythms and fist-waving melodies, trailblazers of the chiptune idiom descend upon Manhattan to pen a new chapter in the history of electronic music.
The SXSW screening will be supplemented by a showcase performance of chip musicians from around the world, featuring:
Nullsleep, Bit Shifter, Anamanaguchi, Mark DeNardo, Tristan Perich, Treewave, Receptors, Bud Melvin, and Aonami, with Voltage Controlled handling visuals.
The trailer features music by Nullsleep ("Salvation for a Broken Heart", "On Target"), Martin Galway ("The Neverending Story"), and Random ("Micawber's Moan"), all composed on classic video game consoles.
Henrik Schwarz & Amampondo - I exist because of you (dixon's stripped down version) Henrik promotes linux? :P The philosophy is really interesting.
Johnny d - Orbitalife I really like the vocals.
Joris Voorn - The Deep (Jimpster remix) Joris is one my favourite artists and Jimpster's remix is a killer.
Ilario Alicante - Vacaciones En Chile This is for djs who want to add a latin flavour in their sets.
Rachael Starr - To Forever (moonbeamremix) This track is cheesy, I know but moonbeam kinda saves it. Doctors say some cheese now and then isn't harmfull ;)
